You would have recently received a number of emails from Brisbane Basketball detailing their proposed junior competition in Term 4 and some families have been a bit confused as to what their options are.

Just to help clarify the Club's official position, West Brisbane Falcons will NOT be participating in BBI's proposed Summer competition but will again be offering our own in-house program for new & current West Brisbane Falcons members in Term 4. Similar to last year, we believe represents the best value and development for our members 

 

DO YOU WANT TO PLAY BASKETBALL IN TERM 4, 2015???

 

(Back by Popular Demand) The 2015 FALCONS DTP (Development, Training, Play) SEASON

 

Following the overwhelming positive response from our inaugural year in 2014, West Brisbane Falcons will again run our own in-house competitions in all junior age groups during Term 4.  Age Groups will alter slightly for the Falcons DTP Season. Similar to last year, this will mean we will conduct 90 minute age group sessions on a selected night that will involve a 45 minute skills development training session followed by organised matches on the two courts available at Centenary High School.  

 

Teams will be selected and compete on a weekly basis with suitable qualified referees controlling the games. Coaches will be on the court, coaching the players during the games to help the players to learn and improve their skills. No scores, just lots of fun playing our Falcons friends.  

 

Each age group session and games will be overseen by a Head Coach. The Head Coach will run the skills development training sessions and sort out the teams each week to ensure that competition is as even as possible. This allows the players to put into action what they have learnt at training straight into the games. 

 

Each Gender Age Group will be capped at 32 players so that every player gets the most out of their Falcons experience and we welcome players of all skills levels and experience. 

 

Based upon the fantastic feedback from last year, we feel this will be a great opportunity to gain more value out of this short season and deliver to all Falcons club members an enjoyable and fun filled experience playing basketball.
