Western Magic was established in January 2003 by a community group of parents in association with Brian Kerle, Olympian basketballer and former Brisbane Bullets coach.

The charter of the organisation is two fold: to provide young people aged from five to twenty the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of basketball, and to assist those that display high skills the opportunity to achieve their full potential.   

Our Mission:

 *Providing coaching that imparts the fundamental skills of basketball.
*Extend the level of skills training through a series of coaching clinics in association with qualified specialist coaches.
*Encourage children to have fun and enjoyment whilst playing basketball.

 *Encourage children to set realistic goals in their education, work careers and sporting lives.

 *Stress the importance of nutrition, active lifestyle and the disadvantages of illicit substances.

*Stress the importance of family values and encourage parents to become actively involved in their child's basketball through participation in scoring, managing teams and fundraising.

*To further educate the coaches with in the club by conducting coaching seminars to help with accreditation levels.

We cater for junior and senior players from the Centenary Suburbs to Forest Lake/Karana Downs, Graceville, Darra, Inala, Springfield and west of Brisbane from Indooroopilly outwards, the club plays in competitions run by Brisbane Basketball Inc. at the Vince Hickey Stadium, Dixon St. Auchenflower.
