[18/01/2013] - 2013 Team Planning
Preparing a junior Football team in a particular age group of around 26 players is quite a task for any club - sometimes there is not quite enough players numbers for one age group or there is one and a half team numbers for other age groups. This is why its important for the club to have registrations or expressions of interest so the club can determine post the registration day what teams can be fielded and arrangements for team officials , equipment and jumpers etc can be planned.
Northvale is very pleased to announce that in 2013 , already at this early stage prior to our registration day we will be fielding 6 teams in 2013 from age groups under 9 to under 17.
This is 2 additional teams and nearly 50 additional players from the 2012 season and is the highest number of teams for the club for some years. There is a lot of planning, equipment management and scheduling underway to make this one of Northvales most sucessful years to date.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: If the club gets expressions of interest from enough players in other age groups (numbers greater than 16 per age groups then every endeavor will be made to provide a team in that age group)
At this time the 2013 junior football teams for Northvale will be in the following age groups.
How do the age groups work ? ... if the junior has a 9th Birthday in 2013 then the team would be under 9's,
If the junior has a 15th Birthday in 2013 then the players would be in under 15's. etc
Sometime a younger player can play in a team that is a year above their age group but this is dependant on the parents , team numbers, the team age group, the division and level of competition for that age group, committee approval , and the Coach's discretion.
It is always preferrable for players to play in their correct age group where possible to give them the best chance to play against other juniors with equivalent skill level, size and playing ability. In the older age groups It also makes it fairer for those juniors to have a chance at Club best and fairests and other playing awards which can be more difficult when playing a year below a specified age group. Please talk to the club and coaches about your particular circumstances if this is the case for you.
