The EMJFC expects its players to observe at all times acceptable codes of behavior and sportsmanship in representing the Club at training, matches and Club functions. This obligation includes:
1. Respecting the decisions of umpires.
Under no circumstances may a player dispute an umpire's decision on or off the ground. This includes on-field decisions by the umpire or decisions made in team selection, field placings, etc. Where a player may disagree with decisions he should approach his coach or team manager.
2. Respecting and observing decisions of team officials.
Should a decision be disagreed with a player should only discuss the event with the coach or team manager. Refraining from displays of temper and language abuse. Not only is this unacceptable but it may also be detrimental to the whole team in the form of team morale, reports and send offs.
3. Playing within the spirit of the rules of the game.
Playing hard doesn't mean using undue physical strength or violence. Sportsmanship means playing within the rules of the game.
4. Regular attendance at training.
Training together as a team is the most important aspect of developing team skills and efficient functioning of the team as a unit. Regular attendance at training is also fundamental in developing team unity and commitment. The Club recognizes however that on occasions players will have problems attending training due to other commitments. Please inform team officials promptly.
5. Carrying out the instructions of the Coach, Assistant Coach and Team Manager.
Coaches and Team Managers have a difficult task to perform and therefore require full support prior to, during and after a game and at training sessions.
6. Encouraging team mates at all times .
Positive support is far more beneficial to the team than are negative comments.
7. Being properly attired for Club matches .
Mouth guards are compulsory.
Association rules require players to have the correct uniform on match days and fines are imposed on the Club for breaches such as the wearing of non-regulation shorts, socks, etc.
Players must also ensure that stops are replaced when necessary.
A poorly attired team is a bad advertisement for the Club and does little for morale of the side. Fines are also a drain on the Club's slender finances.
When a playing roster is in place it is the players responsibility to adhere to it and inform team officials immediately if the roster cannot be followed.
There is no requirement on the Club to make up games lost by non-appearance.
