Anasta comfortable in new NRL colours

Anasta will face the Sydney Roosters, a club he captained to the 2010 grand final, on Saturday night in the final trial match for both teams and he couldn't be happier to get it out of the way earlier.

The 31-year-old, who spent seven seasons at the Roosters, split with the club in acrimonious circumstances last season when contract negotiations dragged on for long enough to convince Anasta he was unwanted at the tri-colours.

"It is (good) to get it out of the system and get it out of the way (early)," he said after the 41-4 belting of the Eels on Saturday night.

"I'm a Tiger now and as soon as that game is over, everyone will be over it, we'll move on and business as usual."

Anasta said he remained good friends with the Roosters playing group and despite an odd moment in front of the mirror on Saturday, there's no questioning where his loyalty now lies.

"I was a bit anxious about putting on the jersey - I had a look in the mirror when I put it on to be honest with you," he joked.

"Because I was like 'what does this look like?' and I had a bit of a look.

"I felt comfortable in it. I'm really excited about it.

"... It's going to be a bit strange for me, there's no doubt about that.

"I'm still in contact with a lot of the boys, they're still great mates of mine.

"I'll always have an affiliation with the place.

"It will be weird going back there on the other side of the fence. But I'm also looking forward to it.

"I'm at a new team, a new club and I'm really loving it."

Anasta warmed up for his return to the Sydney Football Stadium with a two-try performance in the Benji Marshall-inspired thumping of the Eels.

Clearly embracing his role as a wide-running backrower, Anasta was twice the beneficiary of Marshall's electric play at five-eighth.

"I'm really enjoying (my role), I can do my own thing and focus on my own role," he said.

"I'm running off Benji and (halfback) Jacob Miller and (hooker) Robbie Farah, those guys can certainly create opportunities for me there.

"I've just got to do my own job and I'm feeling confident about it."
