Beechworth A3 team has suffered a 119 to 70 shot loss to Bright in the Ovens & Murray Bowls Pennant Season.
On a green that was well below standards, Beechworth loss all four rinks with the best team been T. Stockdale (s), B. Fitzpatrick, R. Howard and T. Chambeyron, only going down 22-27 over C. Symons team. The team of I. Soulsby (s), P. Keogh, S. Kelly and B. Gazzola when down 18-25 over G. Jones team to be the second best team of the day. However both W. Page team and C. Sunderland team when down 17-33 and 13-34 respectively to end a horrible day for Beechworth. With the result, Beechworth are now sixth on the ladder and will now take on Yarrawonga/Mulwala Golf Club Resort who loss 76 to 125 shots over St James last week.
Beechworth C1 team had a 60 to 23 shot loss to Wangaratta on the weekend. Both rinks when down with G. Sinclair team going down 32-15 and R. Holmes team going down 8-28. The result means Beechworth are now fifth on the ladder and will take on Yackandandah next week, who won 48 to 32 shots over Benalla last week.
Beechworth B3 team had the bye last week, thanks to Moira not able to field a team. Beechworth got all 14 points to keep them second on the ladder, 9 points from Wangaratta who is in first place. Beechworth Midweek team did not play last week because their game against Yarrawonga got washed out, with them staying in third on the ladder. They have a week off before playing Ovens next week who are on top of the ladder.
