Beechworth A3 team have won there grand final rematch against Yarrawonga/Mulwala Golf Club Resort in the Ovens & Murray Bowls Pennant Season.

Beechworth won three of the four rinks in their 100 to 86 shot win, with the team of W. Page (s), C. Sunderland, T. Bright and M. Walch winning 33 to 22 over S. Hanley team to be the best team of the day. In a remarkable result, they had been 2-17 down after 9 ends but then scored 31-5 over the next 16 ends to win. The team of T. Stockdale (s), K. Waring, R. Robinson and T. Chambeyron was the next best team with a 29-19 shot win over G. Mulder team. The team of I. Soulsby (s), R. Bayliss, P. Keogh and B. Gazzola also won 23-17, with them making eight shots on the final four ends to win. However B. Fitzpatrick team when down 16-28 over G. Hart team to give Beechworth sixteen points from the result to move them into fourth on the ladder. They will now travel to Wangaratta next weekend, who loss 84-114 shots over St James.

Beechworth C1 team have beaten Yackandandah by 48-41 shots to be the first team to beat Yackandandah this season. The team of R. Holmes (s), D. Smith, M. Gardner and B. Hoebert won 30-17 over B. Bullivant team. However G. Sinclair team when down 18-24 to give Beechworth eight of the possible ten points to put them into fourth place on the ladder. They will now play Chiltern next week who loss 31-57 over Benalla last week.

Both Beechworth B3 and midweek pennant teams had the week off last week, with both hoping to continue their great start to the season this week. B3 will play Wangaratta at home and Midweek playing Ovens also at home.
