Beechworth A3 team have made it to the finals after defeating Wangaratta by 105 to 76 shots in the Ovens & Murray Bowls Pennant Season.
Beechworth won three of the four rinks with the team of B. Fitzpatrick (s), R. Bayliss, B. Walch and K. Waring winning 30-15 over P. Selwood team. The team of I. Soulsby (s), P. Keogh, I. Pritchard and S. Kelly also won their game 30-15 over I. McNamara, and the team of W. Page (s), R. Robinson, T. Bright and S. Gardner won their game 26-15 over G. Smith team. The team of T. Stockdale (s), C. Sunderland, D. Bright and T. Chambeyron end up going down 19-31 over G. Fox team. The result gave Beechworth sixteen points to finish the season in third place on the ladder. Beechworth will now take on Ovens in the elimination final this weekend, after their 120-79 shot win over Bright to finish with the same amount of point as Yarrawonga but move into the finals on percentage.
Beechworth B3 team have finished the season in third place after their 60-76 shot loss to Bright. Beechworth only won one rink with the team of C. Leentjes (s), T. Thompson, J. Chambeyron and B. Gazzola winning 27-22 over T. Parker team. The team of L. Smart (s), R. Howard, G. Crutchett and R. Saunders when down 23-29 to D. Sellick team and the team of I. Sekulic (s), M. Howes, S. Cameron and G. Smart when down 10-25 to give Beechworth only two points to drop from first to third on the ladder. Beechworth will now have a rematch against Bright in the elimination final after Bright finished fourth on the ladder.
Beechworth C1 team have ended their season with a 33 to 52 shot loss to Wodonga on the weekend. The team of K. McIntosh (s), G. Sinclair and I. Murray had to deal with missing a player to only go down 20-24 to M. Koppins team. The team of G. Bailey (s), P. Henderson, B. Hoebert and M. Carey ended up going down 13-28 to end Beechworth C1 season with only three wins and finishing in sixth place.
Beechworth Midweek Pennant team have had a close 65-69 shot loss to Ovens in the qualifying final last week. The game was always going to be a very close battle as both Ovens and Beechworth were playing on a neutral surface. Beechworth will now take on Myrtleford in the preliminary final later in the month after Myrtleford defeated Benalla 67-63 in a very close elimination final.
