Corio Vs Nth Geelong away                                Corio 13-7-85 to 20-16-136

Goals: Leigh Clifford 3, Ricky Otoole 3, Barry Otoole 2, Mark Stewart 1, John Keys 1, Caine Hayes 1, Andrew Ferguson 1, Scott Evans 1 Best: Calvin Obrien, Andrew Ferguson, Ricki Lazzarich, Shane Rogan, Barry Otoole, Brad Anderson, Matty Wade

Gee Wizz what can one say! One of the worst performances by a good side in living memory. Turnovers with poor skills and players just not prepared to run to contests to make up numbers was the story of the game. A yellow card in the third quarter followed by an all in brawl seemed to be the last harrah by our seniors as we got ran over by a much younger and much fitter North Geelong. Danny Ruck must think his team mates hate him as once again he stood up nobly under effortless thrusts forward by North. Matty Wade must have been close to best in his side as he stopped his opposition player time and time again and gave his side some much needed run off the half back line. Bazza Otoole put his body on the line and fought tooth and nail at every contest continuing his good start to the season. Ricki Lazzarich as usual never gave up being one of the few players who could find a target with his heap of touches. Calvin Obrien never stopped running and along with Caine Hayes were a couple of a very few players willing to run hard into defence to lend a hand. Fergy, Rogues, and Ando also tried hard but North had too many players prepared to run all day which made the difference. The side is much better than that performance with many very good players and hopefully getting back to basics the team can  turn around their poor start to the season.

Reserves Vs Nth Geelong away           Corio 18-7-115 to 10-8-68

Goals: Shaun Gundry 4, Chris Short 3, Robbie Walton 1, Jed Potter 3, Leigh Cervanka 2, Darren Bennett 1, John Bartolo 1, Matthew Cullen 1, Geoff Mitchell 1 Best: Michael Baumann, Dale Greaves, Robbie Walton, Ricky McKone, Clint Eldredge, Shaun Gundry

The reserves had harder contest than the week before but still were convincing winners taking out the game by 47 points. Michael Baumann played well showing no signs his speed has waned with age. Dale Greaves would have to be the best defender in the reserve league once again dominating off the half back flank. El Presidento Robbie Walton enjoyed a stint up forward kicking 2 majors and assisting in a few others. Ricky Mckone and angry ant Clint Eldredge played solid games once again being in the teams best players. Shaun Mr Bean Gundry bagged 5 goals and continues on with last years Ivan Tanzing medal form. Craig Shelley went in hard for the ball and if his fitness keeps improving could be a dominant player for the club this year.

U/18s Vs Nth Geelong away                  Corio 4.6.30 to 17.6.108

Goalkickers: Gus Accheni 2, Shaun Hastings 1, Rhys Marshall 1

Best: Rhys Marshall, Shaun Hastings, Gus Accheni, Josh White, Stevie Lee, Aaron Tucker

U/16s Vs Thomson away                      Corio 16.15.111 to 3.9.27

Goals: Jake Manning 5, Peter Abbott 5, James Jacobson, M Griffen, Jamie Hollander, Jackie Wilson

Best: BJ Short, Dale Peters, M Griffen, James Jacobson, Jake Manning, Peter Abbott

The boys were a bit slow to start this week kicking 1-4 to Thomson 1-4 at quarter when coach Rob Walton spoke about playing team footy and doing the 1%s. They were then informed it was more impressive to make tackles, sheppards, or use their voice then to sit outside waiting for a easy kick. The boys responded well with good team

work and numbers at every contest. Dale Peters and AJ graham played well for their first game for the club and Jake Manning and Peter Abbott were good up forward. BJ Short and Dylan Riseley were excellent in defence.
