Milestones

Ricky Otoole  - 150 games

Ricky began his football career as a junior at Corio winning 2 league and 2 club B&Fs in the U-15s along the way. Between 2000 to 2005 and 2008-2009 Rick has amassed 150 games for Corio. During his time at Corio, Rick has won an incredible 2 League B&F’s, 3 League R-Up B&F’s and 7 Club B&F’s, and considering his achievements at the 2 other clubs has enjoyed a career very few others in Australian Rules Football history would have emulated. The Corio Football and Netball Club congratulate Rick on his career and wish him all the very best for this milestone this week.

Volunteers

This week is Les Farnsworth who is on his second year with the committee being Treasurer last year and assistant treasurer this season. Not only is Les putting in a lot of volunteer hours assisting with the finances this year but Les is more than happy to assist with anything else asked of him. Les also helps Maggie with the cleaning duties and has been an asset to the club over the past 2 years and the club would like to thank him for his ongoing volunteer work.

Presentation Night

Presentation night this year is once again at Capri Receptions the 3rd of October with 3 course meal, beer, wine and soft drink included for your $70. If anybody would like to start making payments see Nadine Scoble who is happy to start taking down payments anytime.

Think about it, your club needs you!

The club is asking everybody to think long and hard about whether you could do something to support your club next year. We currently have a good committee but we are always looking for more volunteers to help out around the club. There are many jobs you are more than capable of doing which would alleviate some of burden and workload on our current committee. The more we spread the workload around the longer we will see committee people staying onboard and thus the club will retain experienced people for longer and assist in running our club in a more professional manner. If you think you could help out with a major role or a minor role next year, just let someone from the committee know and we would be more than happy to find you a role suited to your abilities. The clubs Annual General Meeting is the time we need people to attend and also put up theirr hand to assist with the following season. The date of this years AGM will be announced at a later date.

Sponsor of the week is Geelong Accident Repair Centre

Whether it’s a small ding or a major accident make sure your first port of call is the Geelong Accident Repair Centre in Gordon Ave West Geelong. An experienced team that provides quality and efficient work and always guarantees customer satisfaction. Remember support our sponsors and they will keep supporting us!
