Graeme Thompson - (aka Daffa)

Graeme first became involved with the East Geelong Football Club as a player in 1991 and was a key member of the club’s last premiership side in 1993.  2009 will be his fourth year as Club President.

Since 1991, Daffa has been a tireless worker around the club even though he has only been on the committee since 2000.

Some of the projects/roles Daffa has been involved with include:

Junior President, Vice President, Junior Coach, Seniors Runner, Reserve Umpire, Facilities Co-Ordinator, Football Manager and Redevelopment Manager of Club Renovations and Developments.

Daffa’s experience in all football matters will ensure the club, runs smoothly and remain's focused on its key objectives.

Kevin O'Leary - (aka K.O)

Kevin is a favourite son of the EGF&NC and was a former secretary of the Geelong branch of the Maritime Union of Australia.

He has served on the Senior Committee for 20+ years and has been associated with the club for 30+ years, playing 197 games and becoming a life member in 1979. In 2000, he received a life membership of the Geelong & District Football League.

As Vice President, and a former President, of our football club Kevin takes great pride in the faith people have shown in his ability to guide the East Geelong Football Club into this century. He is also proud of the large and loyal committee of men and women who demonstrate real commitment and teamwork to achieve the Club’s purpose.

Kathy Dowling

Kathy became a social member of the club in 1997 and over the years has helped out in the bar as well as supporting the Eagles on the field. 

In 2006, after deciding that she wanted to become more involved in the club, she became a committee member and took on the role of Secretary.

Amongst many deserving nominees within the club, Kathy was awarded Best Club Woman in 2007 & 2008 consecutively.

Michael O'Leary

Mick has been a member of the EGFC committee since 1992 and has held

various roles such as Vice President (current), Treasurer, Social

Coordinator and Sponsorship Coordinator.

He has also played nearly 250 games for the EGFC and has been captain of the club for the past 4 years.

Brooke O'Leary

Brooke become a social member of the club in 1997.  

In 2001 Brooke developed the netball section of the club and joined the EGF&NC committee as Netball Coordinator; Brooke has been a committee member for the past 8 years. 

Brooke has played 100 senior netball games for the club and has coached and umpired junior netballers. 

Brooke won the B Grade Best and Fairest and Jameson’s ‘Most Exemplary Player’ award for the club in 2008.

David Peters  - (aka Shorty)

Shorty first came to East in 1988.

Shorty's football career with East is extensive as he played in the premiership side of 1993, was captain of the seniors in 1999, has won 2 League Best & Fairest's, 2 Club Best & Fairest's and has played over 300 games for the eagles.

Aside from football, Shorty has coached the U10's, U12's, U15's & Reserves. Was Assistant Coach for Auskick, U10's, U12's & U18's and has also been the Club Umpire for 2007, 2008 & 2009.

In 2008 Shorty came to the Committee as the Junior Co-Ordinator where he has excelled at organising the junior ranks for the past two years.

Sean O'Leary

Sean has been a member/player of the club since U10’s junior footy; He has been a member of the EGF&NC committee for the past 3 years as Social Coordinator. 

Sean won the leading goal kicker award for the league in 2001 & 2002 and has played 148 senior games for East Geelong.

Sean has also played a part in junior development by coaching U14 & U16’s for two years.

Simon Baker (aka Bakes)

Simon first became involved with the East Geelong Football Club as a player
in 2004. This is his first year on the Committee as the new Facilities
Coordinator that will include working with the Committee on facility
improvements, including the clubroom redevelopment that will take shape
this year.


He is a current senior footballer, who has played 166 senior games (60)
with East Geelong, that included stints with Wandella, Newbridge and Bell
Post Hill Football Clubs.

Keith Jameson (aka Scrunch) has been with East for over 35 years and is a Life Member of our club.

He has filled the roles of President, Vice-President, Committee Member, Player, Trainer, Runner & Team manager just to name a few.

Keith & his business of the East Geelong Post Office is a proud Sponsor of EGF&NC and in 2007 Keith started the Past Players & Officials Association whose goal is to keep all past players & officials as part of our club long after their playing days are finished.

Keith has recruited more than 100 Past Player & Officials Association members with more and more joining each year!
