Round 18

Today we take on Trafalgar at home for the final home and away games of the season, good luck to everyone involved today and in the upcoming finals series.

Last week out at Boolarra our seniors and reserves had big wins in the football and the netballers had a day out, winning all 6 games played. Well done girls a terrific effort.

A big welcome to all our sponsors and life members who are attending our annual luncheon, we hope you have a fantastic day and the results go our way. “Carn The East”.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved with our great club during the 2009 season, your contribution be it big or small is greatly appreciated.

Box’s Seniors:   Travelled to Boolarra knowing that we had to respond to our disappointing performance the week before against Yinnar. Our preparation was good and the motivation to bounce back was evident. We put in a great 4 Qtr game and it was good to see some of the boys playing back into form at the right time of the year. Best: Harliegh Aarons - The 3 Amigos, Aaron, Luke Hopman & Bruce, with Juice and Robbie playing well also. Gibbo kicked 6 and was well supported by Hoppy with 5.

Giddo’s Reserves:   Terrific percentage boosting win out at Boolarra last week. To come out after half time and kick 11 goals while holding the opposition to nil is a great sign of what this side is capable of. Better players were Grant Greenwood, Hughie Pepper, Nick Talerico, Andrew Blair, Jacob Blair; and Brandon Francis.

Trev’s Thirds:   Unfortunately our thirds had no game on Saturday due to Boolarra only having a couple of kids available. Not the ideal preparation leading into today’s game against top of the ladder Trafalgar.

Gavin’s Fourths:   No game last week due to a bye. On Friday Nick spoke to the Youth Club under 14's at there farewell night to there top age boys, we thank youth club for the invite and there hospitality .On the Sunday Gavin went and watched the youth club boys win there first final against Newborough with Dougies boy Brayden and Rick and Shells boy Jay playing great games, Brayden managed 5 goals from C/H/F well done fellas and good luck tomorrow against Leongatha.

All grades had good wins against determined opposition.  It was pleasing to see our 17U's and C grade get a better result than the first time we played them with Boolarra pushing us right to the wire. Good to see Naomi back on the court with a run in A grade, Naomi fitted into the side like a glove.
