Rye U/12 had a 13 goal victory today over Sorrento at home. It was a great game with the use of the ball out of the centre and the delivery to Max at full forward was spot on. Max kicked 6 goals for the day.
The things that impressed me the most are the drills that we do at training are being used on the field game day. What this means is you are listening and putting what you have been taught at practice and it is now paying off for the players as individuals and, most importantly, for the team. As a coach there is no better feeling than to have spectators or parents come up to me and tell how good the team is playing together.
This week we have big challenge of playing the top team (Crib Point) at Crib Point. This is a challenge that we look forward to. I truly believe we have what it takes to beat this mob if we use our handball game the way we have been as I think we could beat anyone. The team needs to believe in themselves and go into this game with a positive attitude. It would be great to have a big crowd there to cheer the team along so grab your grandparents, family, friends and get behind the team.
Blair.
