Hawk Talk, Vol. 6
KICK FOR YOUR CLUB
Just a quick update on how we are going. Hanging in there and putting up a good fight, thanks to the efforts of some loyal kickers. If you are wishing to do your own, please let Carmen know. We are trying to account for everyone as we can’t afford to waste a kick at present. South Barwon currently has 683 registered kickers. We are sitting on 506!! We hold a slender lead and need everyone continuing to kick daily and to recruit as many people as they can! Keep up the great work!!!! Not the size of the dog in the fight, it’s the size of the fight in the dog!!!!! Here is the website: www.defencejobs.gov.au/armyaward/kickforclub

NEW RECRUIT
The club welcomes Justin Plapp to the club. Plappy comes to us, having played at the highest level with Richmond and St. Kilda as a utility. He ended up playing 44 AFL games in all. He made his first appearance last week against Rumbalara and made an immediate impact, being among the better players for the Hawks in his very first game with the club!!!! Great to have you on board!
FIRST GAME FOR BUTLER
Congratulations to Tom Butler on playing his first Senior game for the Barooga Football/Netball Club last week against Rumbalara. It’s always a pretty daunting achievement at 17 years of age to be given an opportunity to test yourself against grown men but Tom did a great job and acquitted himself well. Look forward to seeing many more from him!!! Well done!

GOT TO BE THERE!!!!
Hendo you little ripper!!!! Membership no. 33 proved lucky for Matt Hendry last Thursday night, netting our Senior Ruckman a cool hungee!! Beautiful roast dinner provided by Kate Crawford! Thanks again to all those who assist in feeding the hungry troops and for those who turn up. Good crowd in last Thursday and we want to see more of that as we head into the last 1/3 of the year!!!!!
100th FOR SAMMY J!
Congratulations also need to be extended to Sam Jenkins, who fronted up for his 100th Club game for Barooga. Sam is one of our promising juniors, who, if he doesn’t neck himself on his motorbike, will play some great football for the Hawks. A speedy left footer, Sam has shown plenty of promise and it has only taken him two games back from injury to be playing up at Senior level once again (made his debut last year)! Well done on your achievement!!!!
LOOK-A-LIKES!
Do you think someone, player, supporter, official etc looks like someone (or something) famous or funny?? Let Carmen know and will give it a run in our coming Hawk Talk editions. For example:
Tom Crapp = The Terminator
Xav Hunt = UFC’s Michael ‘The Count’ Bisping
MERCHANDISE

JOKE OF THE FORTNIGHT
When Stuey Galloway first got started in the building game, he went to the timber-yard to pick up what he thought were 2 by 4s. He was corrected by the salesman, “ You mean 4 by 2s?”
“OK if you say so” was Stuey’s reply
“And how long do you want them?” quizzed the salesman
“For a friggin long time mate!” Stuey stated, “I’m building a bloody house!!!!”
Great to see you back in action champ!!!
