His partner in crime in defence, Zane “Bomber” Goodwin also reaches a milestone as he will line up for his 150th Senior game today.
CONGRATULATIONS MEN, we’re proud of you!!!!!!!
Past players and Hawks Club
Today we are holding a past players function at the “Sporties” from 11am until 1pm so welcome back to those guys who have traveled back for the weekend to relive past glories. The Hawks club are also holding a function in the outer shed with all members welcome to come over and enjoy an ale or two and a feed while witnessing today's spectacle.
Ladies Day
The netball club are running a ladies day with all ladies welcome to join in the fun. This is being held today in the outer too, with food and drinks included in the $20 a head fee. So girls wonder over for a great day out.
While on the girls, congratulations to Under 13’s player Maggie Kelly on her selection in the Finley Zone netball team to play in Wagga Wagga. She joins a long list of girls to represent the Hawks at a higher level this season.
O’Dwyer dynasty
The reserves game today sees the three O’Dwyer boys take to the field together for the first time since the fourths. Kieran and Chris will run out with Jono and witnessing these three in action should be worth the admittance money on its own.
BFC records show that 300 senior game players are Barry Bennett and Gerald O'Dwyer. What an achievement to have turned out for the triple century for just the one club. And of course it's no coincidence that Barry is the uncle of Jono, Chris and Kieran who just happen to be Gerald's sons. Says something special about the family club that Barooga prides itself to be.
I’m sure Gerald will have the chest out today and so he should!!
