Seniors:
With the wind picking up in the second so too did Moama’s intensity rewarding them with a five goal to our lonely point quarter. More goals would have been scored but for the sheer class and “relentless” backman Danny Bourke. With timing akin to that of a swiss watch, he makes very little dust as he ducks and weaves back through the oncoming traffic.
With three goals to their six in the third we were still definitely making a game of it. Paul McCallum continued his fine yearly form creating lots of turn backs as too did Ricky Barnes. Terrific to see our younger players doing so well as these boys are the future of the club.
Moama really sealed the deal with a nine goal to our single Jarrod Maskell six pointer.
Great effort by youngster Joel Cahir who played his senior debut game. Well done Joel!
Regardless of the final outcome Adam Quarrell is sporting a large smile on the dial after wife Kelly gave birth during the week to their first child Macy Matilda. Congratulations to both, Debbie Hicks is emailing a netball registration form this week!

Reserves
Nathalia 3.2 lost to Moama 15.18. It was a much better effort this week with the boys having a genuine crack. Right from the first bounce the boys were putting pressure on the Moama players. But to Moama's credit they were too good on the day. It wasn't until the last quarter that I found out about a couple of players; offering a stubby a goal it looked like it was going to cost me a fortune with Navey kicking 2 and Lauchy Smith kicking 1. Stuart Bell was creative in the cuts and Daniel Nave is starting to get his confidence back. Hayden Power was at his consistent best and James Smith continues to improve after Injury. The skipper Simon Quarrell played his best game of the year.
Goals: Daniel Nave 2, Lauchlan Smith. Awards: Past Players' Mug, Stuart Bell, Blake St Butchery, Daniel Nave, Middle Hotel, Hayden Power, Club awards, James Smith, Simon Quarrell.

Nathalia 1.3 lost to Moama 16.16. Getting a good start is always vital to set the day's play. With many exclusions from the core playing group this made the job difficult to settle into a structure around the ground. The day was made up of many individual battlers constantly working, but unable to link solid play together against a strong Moama side. Beau Madden played his best game so far. Terry Kalaitzidis, Corey Hicks, Ilija Kolundzija and Angus Armstrong kept fighting all day. Good little battlers were Joseph Nihill, Gavin Cobbledick, Greg Boxall and Hayden Atkins.
Goals: Jake Curtis. Awards: Al's Cafe, Beau Madden, TJ's IGA Supermarket, Terry Kalaitzidis, Salon 12 Hairdressing, Corey Hicks, Al's Cafe, Ilija Kolundzija, Rex James Stockfeed, Joseph Nihill, Tony Ryan best 1st Year, Angus Armstrong.

Nathalia 5.3 defeated Moama 4.5. In a tightly fought contest our 4ths were able to register their second win for the year. In a thrilling last quarter the Moama boys hit the front and Nathalia were up against it kicking into the wind. However, Tom Nihill got a clearance, Kodi Hicks got it to Alex Hicks and we goaled to rest back the lead. With time ticking away Moama forced the ball forward but the siren sounded with the ball about to be kicked at goal. Nathalia sang the song with gusto and all the boys, water boys and boundary umpires etc joined in enthusiastically. Kodi Hicks, Rhys Shannon and Dylan Bell were great leaders all day and played their hearts out. Brenton Boxall played with great spirit and snapped a terrific goal. Nathalia welcomed a new player in Hayden Tyrrell and he showed great speed and strength to win lots of the ball. Overall a team effort and a match played in great spirit with the Moama boys playing the game in equally good spirits.
Goals: Alex Hicks, Kodi Hicks, Brenton Boxall, Bowen Smith, Dylan Bell. 13/U: Nathalia 22 defeated Moama 18. The girls jumped out of the blocks quickly in the first quarter which was great to see. Taylah and Tilly worked very well together in goals. Dani, Tania and Brooke worked hard in centre. The second, third and last quarters saw our defenders dig in hard to withstand a late charge from the Moama girls. Awards: Nathalia Supporters, Caitlin Hawks, Al's Cafe, Tilly Terry, Lowy's Farm Fencing, Ashleigh Cusack.
11/U: The lead see-sawed all day in a tight match. The wind played havoc with many shots for goals and some passes were pretty wild. The last quarter was tense with Moama pulling away. Good solid games by Reni, Jessi, Ashleigh, Meg, Abbey and Paige. Awards: Nathalia supporters', Abbey Shanahan, Lowy's Farm Fencing, Jessi Hicks, Canteen Voucher, Paige Bourke.
Kicking with the scoring end in the first quarter we were a little slow getting into gear allowing Moama to score the first two goals of the match. Although managing to win plenty of the centre area play largely due to the work of Jarred Maskell, going into our forward fifty regularly we could not encourage the ball to go between the tall sticks. Finally reward came off the boot from team leader Nathan Gemmill. Moama kicked their third for the quarter and the Purps equalled with Luke Quinn and Mitch Curtis both adding goals to make it three a piece. The opposition snuck one more goal in for the term and with the scoreline four goals to three there was plenty of buzz in the huddle at the first break.
