Seniors
No matter where either side is situated on the ladder you are always guaranteed of a tough contest to earn bragging rights between the two geographical close towns. The first quarter saw us winning a lot of the ball but unable to finish off with the opposition repelling much of our good work. Jarrod Maskell was a clear winner in the ruck as well as drifting into the back half turning back many attempts at goal offered by Numurkah. Ricky Barnes too was providing strong defence beating opponents both advanced in age and experience. Jake Butler had a day out winning a lot of the ball and providing the crowd with a thrilling "Pele" style goal. The second quarter although played in similar style to the first had the home side finish their efforts with five goals kicked for the term. Mitch Curtis was giving plenty from his wing including a fine goal as too was Todd Hicks who after receiving a pass from his evergreen cousin Nathan Gemmill kicked his first goal in senior football. Dylan Butler was a statisticians nightmare with twenty three kicks up at half time, Brodie Ross's biro ran out of ink. Coming out of the half time break the Purps were confident to continue their good efforts but alas it wasn't to be. The flood gates well and truly opened with an eight goal and half as many points to nothing for the term. We were able to save some face kicking four goals to their one in the last.

Nathalia 3.1 lost to Numurkah 13.15. We came up against Numurkah last week and although lost there were many positives we took out of the game. Our linking and willingness to back each other in the second half were fantastic and I couldn't have asked for more. If we had played the whole game like this then the result would have been a lot closer. Best for the day were Jordan Nave, Ilija Kolundzija, Marcus Walsh, Corey Hicks, Bobby Nichols and Jack Ryan. Beau Madden and Malcolm Barnes played their first game for the year. Good efforts all day were also put in by Angus Armstrong, Lachlan Terry, Nathan Walsh and Greg Boxall. Goals: Harley Cobbledick 1, Angus Armstrong 1, Corey Hicks 1. Awards: Lowy's Farm Fencing, J Nave, TJ's IGA Supermarket, I Kolundizija, Al's Cafe, M Walsh, Rex James Stockfeed, C Hicks, Salon 12 Hairdressing, B Nichols, Tony Ryan Best 1st Year, J Ryan.
Under 14's
Nathalia 0.0 lost to Numurkah 7.3. The boys encountered their first week of slippery conditions and did very well to adapt to close, pressure football. We are very pleased with the development of many new and younger players. Thomas Brooks was rewarded for his positive approach and strong tackling in defence with the Al's Cafe award. Ned Loader, Conner Nave, Ben Nagel and Dean Zammit are working hard to improve their skills. Our tackling, teamwork and persistence were terrific all day. Rhys Shannon, Tom Nihill and Alex Hicks played great games through the mid field. Nathan Cahir put his body in the right place to collect the ball and win kicks and Logan Mortimer and Bailey Bell defied their body size with great tackling and chasing. Awards: Al's Cafe, Thomas Brooks, Salon 12 Hairdressing, Ned Loader, TJ's IGA Supermarket, Conner Nave, Rex James Stockfeed, Nathan Cahir, Lowy's Farm Fencing, Dean Zammit, Al's Cafe medal, Anthony Bourke-Hunt, Past Players Footy, Ben Nagel, Nathalia Printers, Logan Mortimer, Tony Ryan Best 1st Year player, Bailey Bell.
