Seniors
This week had us jumping out of the blocks getting away to a good start with two reasonable quick goals by big man Dave Liddell. The first a copybook left side banana kick, the second resulting from a terrific pack mark. After Jake Butler kicked our third, Al Corry popped number four on the board and things seemed all sweet indeed. Then along came a little slacking on our all over ground defence work and Congupna with three late goals turned a two goal to four deficit into a five to four advantage.
Quarter two played out to be a mirror of the first in the fact that twenty minutes of hard contesting footy gave way to another three quick opposition goals before the half time break. Could have been quite a few more only for our two great backmen Danny Bourke and Adam Quarrell and indeed the masters apprentice Paul McCallum.
The third quarter became a real arm wrestle with neither side wishing to give in, then in the last Captain Nathan Gemmill with his umpteenth possession snapped a left foot goal breathing new life into both purple players and supporters. Dylan Butler kicked truly to give us our eighth and final goal for the match and Congupna sealed the deal with another customary three goals for the quarter.

Sam German and Adam Duffus, new to the club, found their fee really well and contributed. Jason Bell was fantastic forward and back, Ash Dohnt got better as the game went on, Adam Smith threw himself into everything, Sean Mortimer Continues to improve and Sanga was good at both ends.

Under 17's
Nathalia 4.5 defeated by Congupna 7.6. We came up against Congupna this week and I could tell from the first bounce the boys were here to play. Our backline was under enormous pressure and held up all day. Greg Boxall is improving every game and was one of the best on the ground along with Angus Armstrong and Jack Ryan. Our linking and willingness to run was one of the high lights of the game and apart from our turnovers I believe we were winners in the end. We all played as a team. Well done boys, you did us proud.
Goals: Corey Hicks 1, Harley Cobbledick 1, Bobby Nichols 1, Marcus Walsh 1.

Nathalia 1.0 defeated by Congupna 22.12. It was a tough day at the office for the 4ths boys against Congupna. Everyone tried hard, encouraged each other and we improved our game each quarter. Matts Ginnivan played a great team game, laying shepherds and marking strongly. Rhys Shannon showed he can play equally as well in defence as he can as a midfielder. Brenton Boxall attacked the ball with confidence and Kodi Hicks competed admirably in the ruck. Well done to all the purples' boys, we will continue to improve.
