Player Subs/gate Membership - all subs are due and payable this week - players must be registered with the League to be eligible to play.
Gate Membership - Any interested parent/supporter wanting a Gate Membership - please organise on Thursday night.

The Lightning Premiership is scheduled at this stage, for the 12th July - last weekend in School Holidays at Wedderburn. Further details as they become available.

Hockey Raffle
A BIG thank you to Colin and Judy Forster for the donation of a TV for our Hockey raffle. The raffle will take place in July.
Weekly Awards
After each home game, players and families are invited to attend the Sporting Club Function Room to hear the day's results and award winners for Hockey, Netball and Football games. The Awards commence @ 6pm. On away games the venue for the Awards is reported in the football recorder.
Canteen Roster
Please find below allocated times to help out in the canteen.
If you are unable to work your rostered time, swap with someone else on the list, or please ask around as not all families have been asked to help and may wish to help.
Please do not let the Hockey Club or the Canteen Committee down. This will be the only time you will need to work in the canteen this season.
The Canteen Committee provides awards for players at each home match and at the end of the season provide us with funds, which help supply hockey equipment and keeps our fees down.

Start of Hockey Season 2009
The St. Arnaud Hockey Club held a general meeting to kick off the 2009 season. This meeting was extremely well supported with at least 25 members and followers in attendance. Al Sharp, Kerrie Swanton and Garry Jennings reported on various aspects of the coming season. Coaches and Team Managers were announced for the season:
Minkey Coaches - Hayley Watts, Kate Gifford, Debbie Meagher Team Manager
Under 13's Coaches - Jasmine Organ, Sherridyn Coleman, Kerry Hendy and Carmen Abbott Team Managers.
Underage Coaches - Danelle Evans, Trudie Jackson Team Manager.
Women's Coaches - Helen Proctor, Danelle Evans and Brylea Swanton fitness training, Clare Maher Team Manager.
Men's Coaches - Al Sharp and Jesse Dyke, Sharlene Bertalli Team Manager.

A new shed/viewing area and storage facility, along with new seating is currently being investigated with grants being sourced. Sponsorship deals and club shirts were also items discussed, as well as Player Nominations for Country Cobras teams was encouraged. Competition teams will remain in the same format as last season where the St. Arnaud Hockey Club follows the North Central Football League. Hockey teams will compose of Women's, Men's, Underage Mixed (GirlsU16/Boys U15), U13 Mixed and Minkey. The first training sessions for the teams were announced. Minkey (players are to be aged 8 years) and U13's will begin on Thursday 2nd April at 3.45pm, Underage will begin on Thursday 26th March at 5pm and Senior Women and Men will begin on Thursday 19th March at 6pm. The meeting closed on a very good note with interested participants excited about the hockey season ahead.
St Arnaud Hockey Club
A very well attended general meeting was held on Monday evening with many supporters volunteering to coach, manage and take on various other roles involved in the club.
ÃÂè Senior Players (women and men) begin this Thursday 19th March at 6pm.
ÃÂè Underage (mixed U16girls/U15boys) begin Thursday 26th March at 5pm.
ÃÂè U13 and MINKEY (mixed) players begin Thursday 2nd April at 3.45pm.
To be eligible to play Minkey players must be 8 years of age. Players are to supply their own mouth guard and shin guards. Hockey sticks are available for use.
Subs will be similar to last season but are yet to be finalised. The Saturday competition follows the North Central Football League and the first match will be played in Boort on April 18th (last Saturday of the School Holidays).
Hockey Club - 2008 Vote Count
The St. Arnaud Hockey Club held its annual vote count and awards nights at the Sporting Club on Friday 10th October. President Alistair Sharp commenced the evening with a welcome to the players, families, sponsors, supporters and invited guest. He also welcomed seven Life Members, Beryl Crone, Bev Amos, Graham Amos, Jenny Sanderson, Michelle Kirk, Glen Rusk and Colleen Rusk. Al reported on the activities, the successes of the Club and players, and also thanked the many people that helped during Season 2008. Sponsors of the Club and award donors were also acknowledged and thanked. The Underage Vote Count commenced with many players polling votes. The Underage Best & Fairest 2008 was awarded to Roderick Robinson and the Runner-up was Sherridyn Coleman. Underage Coach, Helen Proctor presented the player awards to; Most Reliable Player - William Jackson, Best First Year Player - Katie Moore, Best Team Player - Sherridyn Coleman, Most Improved Player - Eloise Freeman, Most Versatile Player - Paul Sanderson, Most Disciplined - Kate Gifford, Encouragement Award - Rachael Austerberry and Coaches Award - Laura Swanton. Underage Captain, Sherridyn Coleman presented Helen with a gift from the team as a way of saying thanks.
Continuing with the evening, Al Sharp presented retrospective Life Member badges to the last 4 members, Michelle Kirk, Jenny Sanderson, Glen Rusk and Colleen Rusk, who had not received this memento. The badges were designed and created for the Hockey Club by Russ Silversmith, and were received by the recipients with much surprise and gratitude.
The Women's Vote count was a close race, with the Women's Best & Fairest 2008 being awarded to Brylea Swanton and to Runner-up Grace Murdoch. Women's Coach Grace Murdoch presented the awards, as voted by the players to; Most Reliable Player - Sherridyn Coleman and Brylea Swanton, Best Team Player - Grace Murdoch, Most Improved Player - Julia Conway and Most Versatile Player - Kate Gifford. Grace also presented Sherridyn Coleman with the Coaches Award.
Brylea Swanton thanked Grace and Hannah Jennings for coaching during Season 2008 and presented them with a gift.
Alistair thanked Mr. Kevin Goode, President of the Canteen Committee for the donation of $1500 to the Hockey Club and also Glen Rusk and Jenny Bibby were presented with thankyou gifts for umpiring games during the season.
The Men's Vote Count had each team member polling votes, with the Men's Best & Fairest 2008 being awarded to Andrew Niblett and to Runner-up Jovel Hunt. Coach Al Sharp presented the awards, as voted by the players to; Most Reliable Player - Andrew Niblett, Best Team Player - Timothy Wright and Jovel Hunt, Most Improved Player - Niklas Baehr and Most Versatile Player - Daniel Johns
Al presented the Coaches Award to Jessie Dyke. A framed team photo was presented to German exchange student Niklas Baehr in his first year of hockey, with assurances from Nik that he will continue with hockey in Germany on his return home, and not soccer. The Best Clubperson Bertie Wilson Perpetual Trophy in 2008, as voted by the p layers, was presented to Kerrie Swanton by Al.
In concluding the evening Al asked Glen Rusk to make the presentation of a Life Member badge to a person who has had over 20 years association with the Club. Glen presented a very surprised Sharlene Bertalli with the certificate and badge.
