Our Players in the AFL

The club is extremely proud of the fact that we have had players regularly drafted by AFL in the past few years.  Dan McKenna has been the lastest, recruited by Premeiers Geelong in the 2007 Draft.  Dan has had a solid first year in the VFL impressing at Centre-Half Back and Full Back.  He played the full season, 19 games, and managed to sneak forward for a few games kicking 10 goals in total.

Andrew McQualter was an extremely talented junior who enjoyed some very successful years in the younger age groups before moving to Melbourne for schooling and some great football opportunities.  The Club benefitted from Andrew's achievements a few years ago when we received a NAB package, and we were thrilled when he was drafted to St.Kilda.  Andrew's father Ken was a tireless worker for the club in roles from President to coaching, while his older brother Tom was also an excellent junior player for the club.  Many people within the club are wrapped with his performances this year fighting back from the Rookie List to be an important player in the second half of the season.

Ryan Murphy is probably the more established of the three players, with him playing 32 games already at Fremantle.  Ryan had an eye-catching 2006 Finals series and we hoped new coach Mark Harvey would give him a solid run in 2008.  So far Ryan has played a handful of games and I'm sure he would be looking for more opportunties considering his WAFL form.

Well Done boys on the example you give our current players - We hope to add to this list over the years!
