Millicent under 14 Match Review
Just not good enough on the day. We came out strong and were looking good until about half way through the second quarter when the east boys started to fire. There were runners everywhere for East Gambier and we just couldn’t find the form we had last week. We tried hard but were out classed in the last half going down in the preliminary final by around four goals. Some positives for the year, Capitan Mitch Gordon won the player of the year and runner up in the best and fairest for the league as well as managed to hit the top ten leading goal kickers for the year, Mitch will be a future champion of the club. Brodie Fabris came runner up in the leading goal kicker for the under 14’s WBFL with 26 goals, Brodie is a natural sportsman who will achieve at whatever he applies himself to. Jayden Reilly who came seventh in the Best and fairest for the league and also came fifth in the leading goal kicker, Jayden has a big tank and will also achieve great things in football. Thanks to our helpers also, Craig Robinson manager, Chris Hutchesson assistant coach and Jason Kenny who was the teams champion runner. Special thanks must go to Mark and Denise Dejong who applies themselves each year to their son’s sport, Mark is the official Trainer and Denise supplies all the oranges and sometimes spoils the boys with treats. The water boys each week and the MFNC committee for all their support. Thanks to Jack Haines for suppling a nice cold Esky each Thursday evening. It’s a pleasure to be involved in the Millicent football club under 14’s.
