Round 3
The girls played host to the highly fancied Healesville side and with losses in the first two rounds our netballers were desperate to salavage a win and get their season on track. The return of Jesse Straughair was an added bonus in front of goals as we got off to a flyer shooting 14 goals to 8 to grab a 6 goal lead at quarter time. It was evident the girls were on the improve and proved the first quarter was no fluke shooting a further 12 goals to the oppositions 4 extending the lead by 8 and taking a 14 goal advantage at half time. The girls again had just the 7 players and were expecting a second half revival from Healesville. This did not eventuate as the girls extended the lead again shooting 12 goals to 3 giving them an unassailable 3 quarter time lead and inevitably their first win of the season. With the match all but sown up they continued on their merry way to score a further 10 goals to Healesville's 7 to eventually run out 26 goal victors. The win was a great result for them and see's the side just 1 game short of the top 5 and also breaks the hoodoo of some huge thumpings at the hands of Healesville. Well done girls, a great result and good luck in the coming weeks where we can hopefully push up the ladder and fight off for a first ever finals campaign.

Final Scores: Silvan 48 Defeated Healesville 22.
Goals: Jessie Straighair 29, Bianca Stockley 19.
