No form of discrimination will be tolerated at Blackwood Football Club
Players Code of Conduct
- Enjoy the game and take pride in representing Blackwood Football Club.
- Play by the rules – the rules of your Club and the laws of the game.
- Attend training sessions and matches at times advised by the Coach. If unable, for a valid reason inform the Coach as soon, as is practical.
- Act respectfully toward the officials and players of your own and opposing Clubs and follow the directions of coaching staff, match and club officials.
- Treat all players with respect, as you would want them to treat you. Control your temper.
- Act respectfully towards match officials at all times.
- Abusive language toward anyone is unnecessary and unacceptable.
- Avoid individual or collective behaviour, which may reasonably be held by spectators to be offensive.
- Avoid all acts likely to incite spectators to violence or disorder.
- Make no detrimental statements in public (print or electronic media) in respect to the performance of any match officials, players, or any policy decisions of the Club or the HFL.
- Abide by the By-Laws, (Rules & Regulations) and the Competition Rules of the HFL.
- Respect the facilities and equipment of our own and opposing Clubs.
- Do not use remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability as many such comments are politically incorrect and it is your coach, team-mates, Club and family that are let down with such remarks.
- Respect and abide by the clubs dress code.
Other Player Obligations
Whilst the club has a limited insurance policy it is expected that players have their own private health insurance and ambulance cover.
- Attend Club functions
- Regularly acknowledge sponsors and supporters
- Players to regularly communicate and contact their direct sponsors
Dress Code
Always dress with pride, neat casual and sport your club colours and apparel.
At all times when sporting the clubs colours at other public venues understand your obligations and that you are representing not only yourself but the whole club, you must be responsible for your actions.
Spectators Code of Conduct
- Support Blackwood Football Club and its officials to foster high standards of behaviour for your club and the league Respect the decisions of Match Officials and teach children to do the same (juniors)
- Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person regardless of their gender, ability, race, colour, religion, language, politics, national or ethnic origin;
- Do not use violence in any form, whether it is against other spectators, Team Officials (including coaches), Match Officials or Players.
- Do not engage in discrimination, harassment or abuse in any form, including the use of obscene or offensive language or gestures, the incitement of hatred or violence or partaking in indecent or racist chanting;
- Comply with any terms of entry of a venue, including prohibited and restricted items such as alcohol, missiles, dangerous articles and items that have the potential to cause injury or public nuisance.
- Do not throw missiles including on to the field of play or at other spectators.
- Do not enter the field of play or its surrounds without lawful authority.
- Conduct yourself in a manner that enhances, rather than damages the reputation and goodwill of the Blackwood Football Club and football generally.
- Any person who does not comply with this Spectator Code of Behaviour or who otherwise causes a disturbance may be removed from a venue and banned from attending Club Functions and future Matches.
- Recognise positively the recreational contribution of voluntary officials, coaches and administrators.
- Never publicly disagree with officials. Raise issues privately.
