FAQs

Q. Who do I notify in case we need to forfeit?

A. Teams are expected to be ready, with a minimum of 4 players (new rules), to start their game on time. The team can continue to play with 4 players for the duration of the game. If you can NOT be on time for a game with a minimum of 4 players, please report to admin@ccbc.com.au in advance of your game (at least the day before) as a courtesy to the opposing team.

Q. When and where will training be?

A. Teams train where possible on a weekday afternoon at WABC (Perry Lakes) The club is allocated times on each day and then liaises with each team's coach and manager to find a suitable time.  Teams are encouraged to find their own court if possible as courts are limited, and we can accomodate only about 30% of teams for training at WABC. Christchurch has kindly offered some courts to us at 6pm and 7pm monday to thursday as well.

  Q. How do we get playing tops?

A. These will be distributed to you once your child has been allocated to a team, and most likely at the first grading games.  You will need black shorts, can be purchased from the centre, or any suitable black basketball short is good.

Q. What is the Clare/Cott player uniform?

A. It is a blue and yellow playing top that will be provided to you, with black basketball shorts.  Shorts can be purchased from most sports stores. Hawks do sell some on their website https://hawksgear.shopdesq.com/training Please note according to section 5.2 of Junior competition by laws the following are not permitted: - shorts with pockets, board shorts, long shorts, cycle pants, skirts

Q. Do we play over the school holidays?

A. No we have two weeks break.  Generally we play on the first weekend of the holidays, and then have the middle weekend and the last weekend off. The season calendar is on the website.

Q. When on the weekend will our team play and will it be the same each week?

A.  This year our Girls and miniball competitions will be run in Friday evenings.  All other grades will play on Saturdays, but may play an occasional Friday night game.  Generally the miniballers will play in the  morning, and the older age groups in the afternoon.

Q. When does the season start?

A. See the front page of our website.

Q. When will fixtures be available?

A. Follow the website Perry Lakes Hawks, all info will be posted there, the fixtures come out on wednesday at the Hawks site. Please download the GameDay App once the season has started.

Q. How do we get contact details of other players in our team?

A. Each team should assign a team manager and he/she will put a player list together with parent contact details.

Q. What will be expected of me as a parent?

A. A parent from each team will be expected to score each game and the team manager will most likely put together a scoring roster for the parents.  Guidelines for scoring can be sent to you upon request.  All teams will be looking for someone to volunteer as team manager, so it is always greatly appreciated when someone puts their hand up to take on that role.
