A key area of focus for the Committee has been to undertake a review of the Football Operations of the Waverley Blues Junior FC. The sole purpose of the review was to identify opportunities, needs, where / how we can improve and implement a strategy for the benefit of all stakeholders at the Club i.e. players, coaches, key support staff, parents, sponsors and the community.
In line with the strategic direction of the Waverley Blues Junior FC the Executive Committee has been in extensive discussion and negotiation with Bryce McGain and his organisation the McGain Group P/L regarding the development of a tailored "Club Player Development Pathway Program”. I am extremely excited to be able to announce that the WBJFC together with the McGain Group P/L will be launching a coaching development pathway" tailored toward the Club’s individual needs to ensure we are providing both our coaches and our players every opportunity to optimise their Waverley Blues Football Club experience. This Club Player Development Pathway Structure is “fully inclusive” i.e. it is going to be tailored to accommodate for players of ALL skill levels, plus coaches and key support staff (etc).
Bryce and his team will be instrumental in developing, implementing and driving this program. The program will encompass the following - kicking clinics (incl. an elite kicking program), development squads and utilisation of the latest electronic coaching aids. This program will also coincide with the inception of the Waverly Blues Junior Football Academy! In short, the Committee is committed to providing our players / kids with the best possible football club learning environment we can create. Quite simply, “we want the Waverley Blues Junior FC to be the Club of choice in the Waverley area (and beyond)”!! All for one and one for all!!
I am sure many of you already know Bryce quite well and his long association and commitment to the Club. Bryce is very passionate about the Club and its vision. He is an outstanding coach and last season coached the U’15’s to the B Grade Premiership and prior to that has coached the Waverley Blues at U’13 and U’14 levels. Bryce has been involved in sport as a player at international level representing Australia in Test Cricket, performance coaching and running elite tailored sports programs for a variety of organisations. He and his organisation possess the skills, expertise and experience prerequisites to assist the Club in this direction.
In my role as Vice President of the Waverley Blues JFC my main area of focus will be the Football Operations. As such I will be responsible for overseeing and liaising with the McGain Group P/L regarding this Pathway program and reporting back to the Committee.
This really is a very exciting time for everyone involved at the Waverley Blues FC. Your Committee is working hard and committed to ensuring the future success of the Club through the implementation of this football program and the Waverley Blues Football Academy.
I encourage all of you to get actively involved and support where possible. The hallmarks of all great Clubs is the participation and involvement of everyone – from players to coaches, support staff, parents and a strong army of volunteers!! Again, quite simply, “we want the Waverley Blues Junior FC to be the Club of choice in the Waverley area (and beyond)”!!
