It was a great Sunday afternoon for the young South boys as they ran out 44point victors.
After a few weeks of some tough opposition it was good to know that they were still in the mix of the competition. The boys didn't dissapoint the supporters with some great passionate South footy against the Glen Waverley Hawks.
It was good to see that their hard work in the pre-season was paying off and no doubt these young men will produce some very good football games this year, so it is strongly advised that you get down to watch them!
It was only 8 points at the first break and looked to be a good game of footy was going to be played. But in the 2nd quarter the south boys were able to put on 3 goals and hold the Hawks to a behind to hold a 28 point buffer. The third quarter saw some great footy being played buy our boys to put on another 4 goals and have 36 point lead at the last change. Early in the last saw the Hawks kick a couple of quick goals but the damage had already been done and South responded with another four goals. It was a great victory and great to see the boys learn the club song...might be a bit more practise need but that will come by winning more games!
Make sure you come out this Sunday to see the boys vs Upper Ferntree Gully 2:30pm @ home.
Go South!
