ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

YOUR COMMITTEE FOR 2013/14

The Annual General Meeting was held at Osborne Park for the last time after nearly 35 years. Our new headquarters is the Yokine Bowling Club

Twenty seven members attended and a ballot was not needed. As there was were no nominations for Deputy or Vice President John Weir and Phil Griffiths were elected off the floor. Three new  (and one old) committeemen were elected, Ian White, Gordon Wooldridge and Tony Harris back on board again.

There were only three nominations for Selector, after all the crap circulating about who was going to do what, many more nominations were anticipated, the only three nominated were Ian White (chairman) Rod Beazley and Dudley Liddelow.

Some nominations apparently, like the proverbial cheque, are still in the mail!!!

Standing committeemen are John Groves, Brian Young, Ron Prosser, Noel O'Halloran, Dudley Liddelow.

The rest are Ian Marshall President, Max Plester Secretary and Mal Sargant Treasurer.

A motion was put to the meeting and passed that the Dress Rule be changed to read:

Any apparel approved by the WA RSL Bowls Section. !

Any Bowls Section member seeking selection to represent WA in future must provide his RSL Sub- Branch membership card to the Selectors. A ring in ocurred in Melbourne resulting in the disqualification of a team.

XLV111 RSL NATIONAL BOWLS CARNIVAL

PERTH  WA DECEMBER 2014--JANUARY 2015

This may seem a long way to go, BUT, there is a lot of organisation  goes into running this event  and Tournament Director Phil Griffiths needs help. Phil can be contacted on 9271 1636 or Email: namma@live.com.au.

The Ladies Committee is well organised with plenty of money-raising ideas, A Transport Officer is needed to liaise with Coach Companies and later to liaise with the yet to be appointed Liaison Officers who will be needed to escort visiting teams from the airport and to and fro to the bowling clubs.Local knowlege is a must for this position.

This position is important as the carnival is run to a pretty tight timetable with team pick-ups from the various hotels etc to get the teams to the venues, which have yet to be decided  --  the last thing we need is a late coach!!!

BE HAPPY FOLKS

Max Plester -- Hon Secretary /PRO
