Ladies Tuesday Pennants Game 1, 23/10/12
Start of the season for all the girls - How would we go first up
Premier Red girls took on top fancied team in Osborne Park at home to get a hiding going down 36-77 pts and 0 pts.
I was there for most of the game and the Mundaring girls tried so so hard but were up against a top team.
Team Thompson were down 0-10 in the early stages but were holding shots on a few ends only to see Ossy Park skipp in Pam Haynes come in to spoil the party on many occasions - Some magnificent bowling by a opposition skipp.
Team Young lead most of the game to just lose in the end 14-18.
Team Stein had a bad day at the office to go down 12-32 - Judge Judy said that we found all the gaps and could not take a trick against strong oppostion.
Next week Mundaring girls got to Mosman Park to do battle with another top team - Hard yacka this Premier League caper but the girls will fight on.
1st div green played Osborne Park away on fast grass greens with plenty of wind to go down 42-52 & 1 valuable pt.
Team Holland were all smiles with a 20-13 win - great effort to Mary, Marie, Bev D & Barbara P on a gutsy win.
Team Chaney lost by the narrowist of margins 14-15 - Good effort girls.
Team Leonhardt had a day to forget to lose 8-24 - Next week Judy.
Home to Manning next game - Tough draw for start to the season.
3rd div green took on Bullcreek away to go down 49-66 & 1 pt.
Team Price is Right won 19-18 with our Kathy putting down the winning bowl on the last end - Great stuff Kathy !! - Well supported by Ann, Lily & Pam
Team Dennis the Menace lost 16-23.
Team Button lost 14-25.
All in all a not so good a start to the season - 2 Winning Rinks out of 9 - 127 against 193 pts but knowing the fighting spirit of our ladies - They will be back.
We now turn our attention to the Men who are also up against some very strong teams on thursday & saturday
