Not quite the weather we were hoping for as a chilling, early morning wind swept across the rinks under grey skies at the start of this year’s 2-Bowl Singles competition.
The four semi-finalists were Glenice Rate, Margaret Anderson, Margaret Frederickson and Linda Bryant.
Emerging victorious from the morning sessions were Margaret Anderson (last year’s winner), and Linda Bryant. Margaret and Linda were well wrapped up after lunch to combat the unseasonal cold winds. After a fierce early struggle, Linda eventually gained the upper hand and finally won the match 21:13. Congratulations and very well done Linda Bryant.
This annual event has been successfully organised by the match committee of Heather Golding, Teri Hayes and Chaired by Match Captain, Anne Noble - thanks folks, great job!
No less a great job was the afternoon tea provided for the contestants by Trish Klisc, Annette Sheridan and Jo Dunne. The editor hears your efforts were much appreciated ladies !
A name yet to be mentioned is that of our most generous sponsor of this event - Chris Tallentire MLA and our local MP for Gosnells. Chris, we thank you for giving up your valuable time this afternoon, your kind words of encouragement to the ladies and also to present your cash prizes to the winner and runner up.
Your annual involvement, interest and enthusiasm in our Club is most welcome and deeply appreciated.
A few images of today’s competition will be available for viewing in the Photo Gallery in the next 24 hrs or so.
