Certificate One (1) courses are conducted over 7 hours each. These courses provide opportunities for coaches to see model sessions by the presenters and to get involved in the planning and presentation of safe, appropriate and age related practices. These courses are “non assessed” meaning that the participants will not be required to do an assessment to be awarded the certificate but rather will have ongoing opportunities throughout the course via a series of group coaching practice sessions. They will complete a self assessment checklist following their session and receive feedback from their peers as well as the presenters.
One MUST complete a Certificate one (1) course prior to attempting a Certificate two (2) / License
Certificate 2 courses are held over a fourteen (14) hour duration. They follow a similar format to the Certificate 1 courses and seek to reinforce the methodology of teaching through seeing and experiencing more model sessions as well as affording the candidate more opportunities to conduct practices as part of a group and as an individual in preparation for their License assessment.
The License assessment component of the Youth and Senior courses are to be completed as part of the certificate two courses. One can however apply for an assessment off course but this may attract an extra fee.
