the following is an extract from the Lakers Basketball Club constitution:

4.2.5  Life Members:

(a)      Life Membership of the club, may be nominated to the Management Committee, at    the Annual General Meeting, provided such nomination shall be given to the Secretary at     least fourteen (14) days prior to such meeting.

(b)     Life Members must be elected by a two-thirds majority of members present personally or by proxy entitled to vote.

(c)     The number of Life Members appointed shall not exceed two in any one year.

(d)     Criteria:

1.       Not less than ten years continuous outstanding service to the Club Committee. 

and/or              

2.       Not less than ten years continuous outstanding service as a Club Coach.

and/or              

3.       At Management Committee's discretion, service to Club can be rewarded with Life Membership before 10 years service is reached.

and/or              

4.       Not less than ten years continuous service as a player and provided that such player has played not less than 250 senior games for the Club, and has exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and service to the Club.

(e)      Life Members shall be entitled to such rights and privileges as may be determined by the Committee from time to time.
