Information for Coaches
POLICE CLEARANCES - are required to be shown to the GSABA business administrator (Dennis Earl). The process for obtaining a police clearance is detailed in the 4-page document attached to the bottom of this page.
FILL-IN PLAYERS - A junior player shall be allowed to play their eligible age and one other higher age group competition (i.e. a player may play 2 games per round). After a senior player has played five games in a particular division, he/she is not eligible to play in a lower senior division for the remainder of the season. Where a club has 2 teams in one age group or division, the Club has only until the completion of round five to be able to swap players from one team to another. A player shall not play for 2 teams in the same age group or division in the same round. Players commencing after round five may play up to two games with one team and be eligible to change teams if necessary.
FORFEITS - Forfeits are the responsibility of individual teams. If you have notification that your team will be short of players, please call a fill in player or a coach in a lower div to arrange other fill in players. Please make sure that your team has your contact numbers at the first game to minimise this being an issue. Forfeit fees are now $80 for seniors and $60 for juniors. If there is a forfeit, the fine must be paid in cash at the canteen prior to the start of the next scheduled game; otherwise a second forfeit fine is incurred.
UNIFORMS - Spare uniform sets for games are kept in the large Lakers blue bag in the store room in the canteen – permanently. NUMBER 55 – In an emergency, if you need a uniform for an existing player or can’t get a uniform for a fill in player – please use the spare no 55 uniforms from the blue bag in the canteen. ASSOCIATION ISSUES – GSABA issues & LAKERS club issues need to be addressed to Club Secretary Diana Richardson (sec4lakers@outlook.com; 85543325; 0410070383). GSABA issues will only be considered if they are in writing to the GSABA committee (that meets about monthly all year round) from the Lakers secretary.
