East Armidale FC Charity Day: Sunday 19th August

Club Charity Round 14th July

The New England Wigs and Headwear Library is a small local charity based here in Armidale, ran by a small but very dedicated group of friends.
The ladies formed the group after witnessing the mind boggling chain of events that happen with cancer treatment.
When one of the women, who was faced with complete hair loss within two weeks of her first treatment, found the lack of facilities to help cope in the community without her without her hair was a huge hurdle.
So rather than accepting things as they were, she set out to ensure others in the same situation didn't face the same lack of resources.
With her friends help, the library was formed to provide services to the New England and Northwest area.

With the cost of wigs being very expensive, at a time when patients are under enormous stress and emotional turmoil in coping with serious illness, the group is there offering wigs and headwear at low rates, while at the same time offering advice and a shoulder of support to people going through what is a very dark time in their lives.

We at East Armidale Football Club feel this is an exceptional charity orqinasition, and are more than happy to be able to help in whatever way we can to not only raise money, but help get their name and what they do out to the wider community.

The day will be held at Doody Park, our home ground located at
201 Canambe St.
We will be playing 4 matches, ADFA womens and the men's 2nd division, East Armidale FC will be playing North Armidale FC with 10.00am and 12.00pm kick off, followed by the premier league fixtures were East Armidale FC will be playing Guyra United in Reserve Grade (2.00pm kickoff) and First Grade (4.00pm kickoff).

All of our teams will be representing the Wig Library by wearing Sky Blue socks (the groups official color), and by playing in "crazy hair".
It will be a gold coin donation to enter the oval, however for $5.00 anyone can get their hair colored with hairspray, as to help them feel a part of the day and fitting in with the players.
We will also be holding raffles to help raise money.
We have set a target of $1500. if we reach this total, a number of players will shave their heads.
