History

The Club was formed in 2003, by Stephen & Lyn Hill and was part of the Hervey Bay United Soccer Club. Several Clubs had moved their home ground to Keith Dunn Oval, so the aim was to help boost numbers at the Hervey Bay United Soccer Club because it was in danger of closing its doors.

In was envisioned that we would have around 8 teams in its first season but were quietly surprised to start off with 18 teams, making us as big as some of the other Clubs within the Football Hervey Bay Federation. As a result we had to come up with more team names so decided the first team would be ‘United’, 2nd team the ‘Warriors’, 3rd team ‘Legends’. In 2007 the ‘Gladiators’ were introduced.

In 2006, the Club split away from the Hervey Bay United Soccer Club and was renamed, ‘United Warriors Football Club’. In 2009 we were named the largest Club in the Federation, with our junior age groups having the biggest following.

In 2010 our Ladies won the Fraser Coast Division 1 Ladies Title and also went back to back the following year. Our Fraser Coast Mens Division 1 team also won the title in 2011 and went back to back in 2012 having a period of 18 months without loss in the league. Our Fraser Coast Mens Division 2 team also won the title in 2012.

2013 was a tough year for our senior teams coming close to success in all divisions. Our Division 1 Men, started off the season slowly, came back to finish 4 points off 1st place, also making the grand final however going down to Gympie Diggers. Our division 2 men had a consistent year however fell at the first hurdal in the preliminary final. Much like the men the women weren't far off the pace either however could not cap a successful season with a grand final win.

2014

The Division 1 mens started the season very slowly and at the half way point of the season did not even look like making finals. With a strong finish to the year, the men coached by Cameron Hanrahan stormed into 2nd place with a win in the final round against Doon Villa whilst missing 6 starting players due to Tough Mudder. The win was made all the better as over 40mm of rain fell during the game to add to a pitch that had already received 30mm in the previous game on the ground. The game was eventually called off with 15 minutes to go due to Lightning, handing United the win. That was as good as it got for the men losing to Gympie Diggers in the 1st final and then also losing to Doon Villa in the semi final.

2015. The 1st & 2nd Division ladies under Steve Thumath & Paul Crilly both had successful seasons. The 1st division made the Grand Final however lost by a narrow margin against a well drilled Sunbury team. The 2nd Division ladies finished the year as minor premiers and also won the grand final against K.S.S Jets. The men had a tough year however with a very slow start to the season in both divisions, it came down to the final game of the regular season for the 2nd div in which they had to win. With 20 minutes to go they were on track, 1 goal up, however Granville finished strongly eventually taking the win. The 1st Division men finished fourth in the regular season and beat Doon Villa in an enthralling game in the 1st final to set up a Semi Final with United Park Eagles. With a key injury early on to Glen Stocks, the men struggled being 3-0 down at half time. The game would eventually finish 4-0, beaten by a better team on the night.

2016. Struggling early on in the 2016 season, our Wide Bay Premier League Men & Women both went on a winning streak which cemented spots in the finals. The men in the first final knocked out Brothers Aston Villa who had only lost one game all season. This secured the home Grand Final in a first for any team on the Fraser Coast. The women however did it the hard way and secured a spot in the grand final however the final was to be played in Bundaberg on the same day. This meant that both teams couldn't support each other. Unfortunately both teams lost the big one, with the men losing 2-1.
