Southern Championships
This Saturday at McDonalds Park, Wagga Wagga the Southern Pool of the CRL Championships will be played between our Bidgee Bulls and Illawarra, Western Rams and Greater Southern. The competition is expected to be tough vying for a position against Newcastle and Northern Thunderbolts the following week. (see more)

Bidgee Bulls 18s Out
The Bidgee Bulls Under 18s ended their 2009 campaign in the Country Championships with a loss to Central Hunter Power on Sunday. With this 32 - 22 points loss following Saturdays 26 all draw against Greater Southern Stingrays the representative roster ended with little chance of any players pushing through to the Country team.

2009 Season Opens
On 18th & 19th April, the 2009 season opened across the Bidgee Region with the Canberra, Group 9 and Group 20 competitions starting with some great tussles, good crowds a few upsets and some big scores. (see more)

Bidgee Teams Announced
Following Saturday's selection trials at Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan the Bidgee Bulls teams for the 2009 Country Championships were announced. With Group 20 winning all Under 18 rounds and Group 8 winning all First Grade rounds they dominated the selected teams as expected. (see more)

Bulls Win Salmat Trophy
On Saturday, 28th March 2009 at McDonalds Park, Wagga Wagga the inaugural Salmat Salesforce Bidgee Champions Trophy was won by "wildcard" entrants Southcity Bulls after a come from behind 22 - 16 win against Queanbeyan United.(see more)

More than just School Footy
2009 Hardy Shield proved to be more than just Schoolboy Rugby League with an exceptional number of "newcomers" participating in the Carnival, use of McDonalds Park facility christening a new era, a first time title holder in Mater Dei and the schools raising over $1500 for the Rick Keast benefit. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THOSE INVOLVED.

Indigenous Maori Game

Hawks Win 10's
On Saturday, March 7th, Yanco Wamoon downed Wagga Kangaroos 10 - 4 to collect the $3500 prizemoney in winning the 5th Wagga 10's Tournament. The competition was bristling with quality players and provided fast and furious action for those lovers of expansive Rugby League on a sunny Saturday at McDonalds Park.2009 is shaping up as a good season for the Hawks following up moderate success at West Wyalong with a win over Wagga Kangaroos who many have described as a potential Riverina heavyweight.

Roos Win Wyalong Knockout
The 38th West Wyalong Knockout kicked off in fine style at Ron Crowe Oval on Friday night with a bumper crowd in attendance.With the playing surface in perfect condition spectators enjoyed another fantastic carnival of Rugby League played over 2 days.(see more)

Wagga & Griffith Celebrate 50yrs
Both Wagga and Griffith Junior Rugby League will celebrate 50 years of football in 2009. Wagga will be gifted with new junior fields to replace Allan Staunton Oval around July and intend to celebrate their new facilities with some famous old faces from the past who kicked on to greater heights at NRL. Griffith will have a new playing strip replacing the green and gold which has serviced them so well for 50 years.

Junior Numbers Growing on Border
Since the introduction of live NRL games to the TV audience in the Albury Wodonga region junior player numbers have grown with a projected increase again in 2009. (see more)
