As we launch into another football season, we wish to welcome all new players and parents as well as those returning after the off season. Please find following an information sheet that will be useful to all players, parents and families and supporters.

BLUE CARDS
All position holders at PWJRL are required by law to hold a current WORKING WITH CHILDREN BLUE CARD.
If you are an incoming member of the Committee or you will be holding the position of Coach, Manager, FAO, League Safe or Referee in the 2010 season, please ensure your Blue Card is current.

UNDER 6 MINI LEAGUE COMPETITION
MINI LEAGUE: It is now generally accepted that "children are not little adults" and they should be allowed an introductory educational period of play wherein they may more easily - and without excessive pressure, learn the fundamentals of the sport as they grow and mature – Mini Footy commences this educational program.

MORANBAH MINERS JOIN MACKAY DIVISION
Moranbah Miners members recently voted to move from the Central Highlands JRL Division to the Northern Division and will join the Mackay competition in 2010.

2009 AWARDS
Hundreds turned up to the '09 Presentation Day to pay tribute to the club after a very successful season. This year 4 teams made the finals (U11,12, 13 & 14) with both the U13 & U14 teams reaching the Grand Final and taking home the premiership. According to club records, this was one of the best years in our history winning 4 premierships in a row (U14) and winning 2 premierships in 1 season.

TELSTRA BOOST
PWJRL received a boost leading into the 2010 season having received a slice of Telstra's Sporting Assistance Fund Grant. The club was sent their allocation of the grant in the form of a set of goal post pads, estimated to be worth about $800.00 These will greatly improve the safety of our players on the field. Thank you Telstra!

VALE - STAN CAMM
STANLEY ARTHUR CAMM, late of Proserpine, passed away peacefully on 1st October 2009.
Mr Stan Camm was the first elected President of the Proserpine Junior Rugby League Club back in 1967.
Our thoughts go to his wife Coral and children Russell & Melody and family members.

PAUL BOWMAN CHALLENGE 2009
The Proserpine Whitsunday Junior Rugby League Club capably hosted the annual Paul Bowman Challenge on the 11th & 12th July 2009. Although our U9's put on a fantastic display, they did not make the Grand Final. Teams travelled from all over the region to take part in the two-day event, with matches culminating in a presentation from Paul Bowman himself.
