The Penrith Rams have great pleasure in announcing the appointment of
Kevin Tate as its Under 18's coach for the 2008 season. Kevin was most recently Assistant Coach for the
Emu Plains club as they won the Greater Sydney Juniors combined West and South West region competition
undefeated. Kevin is a
former Rams player, playing Senior Grade for the club in 1999.
Kevin will be assisted by
Stuart Ayres, who is approaching 200 games for the club. Stuart has expressed an interest in developing his coaching experience, and the club see this role as an
ideal opportunity for him to do so.
Barry King-Smith from the St Clair junior club will take on the role as Team Manager.
Training will begin on
Wednesday, 7 November, with a Development Squad consisting of
eligible 15-18 year olds from throughout the region. This will be overseen by AFL Regional Development Manager
Nigel Cunningham, with assistance from the Rams coaching staff. Any players interested in being involved in this pre-Christmas training are
most welcome. The sessions will run from 5pm until 7pm
each Wednesday night at St Dominics College, Kingswood until 12 December. Training from January will then
revert to Greygums Oval along with the senior group.
For
more information, please contact Stuart Ayres on 0412 117 265.
