The Werrington County 15-year-old was selected for the initial squad for the 2009 Under 16 Rams.
Jack said there were 40 in the initial squad, which will be cut down to a playing team of 25 ahead of the National Carnival in July at Blacktown Olympic Park. The Rams will represent NSW.
Jack said he was ``pretty excited'' when he found out he was selected for the train on squad recently.
``I was kind of shocked because it's out of 120...and only 40 get picked,'' he said.
``I want to play AFL when I'm older, it's what I want to do.''
The initial squad was selected from a number of testing and trial dates.
Rams State Programs Coach Danny Stevens said earlier this month the players would be tested on and off the field over the coming weeks both physically and mentally and their progress back in their club environment would also be monitored.
From there well asses where we are at in terms of both form and injury status and announce the strongest side we can take in to the National Carnival,'' Mr Stevens said.
Jack said he expected to find out whether he had made the final side on June 20.
The Year 11 Jamison High School student said he played soccer and Rugby League before he began playing AFL.
I just love playing the sport,'' he said.
Jack has been playing for Penrith AFL teams since he was 10 years old.
He plays for the Penrith Junior Swans and the Under 18s Penrith Rams.
