Harley Stibbard played his first season with the Rams in the successful Under 18's team of 2009 in only his second year of AFL. The former Blue Mountains Kangaroo had a sensational season culminating in being the joint recipient of the clubs "Best and Fairest" award in the 18's. A player with silky skills, Harley will make his presence felt in the State trials.
Jack Ponton was a well deserved selection. Jack played plenty of football in 2009 and was a key figure in the success of the 18's as well as playing with the Penrith Swans Under 16's, where he won the the "Best and Fairest" award for the season. A very popular and determined player, Jack is the youngest player in the Pioneers team.
St Clair Crows star junior, Aaron Savage, also was honoured with selection in the team. Aaron won the St Clair "Best and Fairest" in the Under 16's in 2009. A student at Hills Sports High, he played just one match with the Rams in 2009 against Premiers, Sydney Uni and immediately impressed the coaching staff and fellow players with his maturity and determination. Aaron will make an easy transition into "senior" footy.
Former Penrith Swans juniors, Nick Perry and Michael Hartley, also made the squad. Both played with the Rams in 2008 before their scholarship commitments sadly saw them required to leave the club to join the Collingwood Development team at Sydney University.
Congratulations again to all the local talent who made this prestigious team.
