1st grade v St George
Round 4 3
May 2009
Brad Abbot
An inspirational half time coach's address was the catalyst for a second half comeback, that saw the Dogs overcome a 32 point half deficit to take the points over a determined St George outfit at Olds Park on Sunday. Looking dejected after a disappointingfirst half, the Bulldogs needed a lift and it came in the form of an impassioned, coherent and animated address from a coach with a sharp football brain and a clear grasp of the fundamentals of the game, who clearly has the respect and admiration of his playing group. Granted, the speech was delivered by the St George coach to his team and was overheard through the paper-thin walls of the Olds Park change rooms, but it should take nothing away from a great comeback.
In other grades, the 2s continued on their winning ways, with a convincing win, as did 3rd grade. Unfortunately, 4th grade and the under 18s went down.
