Dennis Galimberti was admitted to practice to the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1980. He completed his Articles with Peter Kempson & Co. and transferred to Maurice Blackburn Lawyers in 1983 where he practiced as a Personal Injury Lawyer. He was admitted as a Partner of Maurice Blackburn in 1986. Mr Galimberti left the Partnership to become the CEO of the Footscray Football Club (now the Western Bulldogs F.C.) in 1987, a position he held for ten years.
While CEO of the Footscray Football Club, he opened and administered the first club gaming venue in Victoria based at the Whitten Oval in 1992 (formerly Western Oval). As part of his sojourn into football administration, he was involved in a landmark case where a club member, Irene Chatfield, obtained an Injunction in the Supreme Court to stay a secret merger which had been negotiated by the Club’s board with the then VFL and the Fitzroy Football Club. Mr Galimberti ‘blew the whistle” on the secret merger which led to an avalanche of community support and the Court case which overturned the merger.
Dennis is a life member of the Western Bulldogs Football Club and the Sandringham Football Club. He has served as Honorary Secretary of Sandringham from 1984-1986 and from 2001 to the present (Board Member 1999 & 2000).
He is a Partner of the Firm Hall & Thompson Lawyers, which specialises in Liquor and Gambling Law and acts for many prominent Clubs and Hotels
