Uni Rebels League Teams Results
After a big win last week the Rebels Women's team lost to Ansett 47 to 60. Ansett jumped out to a 25 to 8 first quarter lead making it hard for the Lady Rebels to amass a comeback, but the girls kept battling all game long and manage to close the gap to 9pts 47 to 56 with 5mins left in the fourth quarter. Ansett outplayed Uni Rebels to finish the game 60 to 47. Ambah Kowcun had a game high 26pts to lead all scorers.
Uni Rebels Men's continue their undefeated season to 7 and 0 after defeating a full strenght Eagles side. Rebels started out well to a 26 to 19 first quarter lead, but slowed down in the second quarter and handed over the lead to Eagles 41 to 42 to end the first half. Rebels regrouped in the third quarter and clamped down on defense although the bigs being in foul trouble, outscoring Eagles 20 to 13 ending the third 61 to 55. The Men's team maintained the defensive intensity in the last quarter and outlasted Eagles 18 to 13 to win the game 79 to 68. Tyler Jefferson(27) lead all scorers supported by Marcus Ch'ng(19), Jake Kirby(10) and Lionel Oger(4) did a great defensive effort on Ernest Holmes holding the Eagles star recruit to 5pts.
