Week 9 Results For Uni Rebels Teams
Uni Rebels Men's Team kept their undefeated season going after defeating Palmerston last night 71 to 55. Rebels came out strong defensiveley in the first quarter ending the first term 17 to 14. Uni Rebels turned up the attack in the second quarter outscoring Palmerston 24 to 13 ending the first half 41 to 27. Led by the scoring of Tyler Jefferson(33) and court general Marcus Ch'ng(11), Rebels just fielded 6 players for the game but still cruised to a 71 to 55 win.
Rebels Women's side fell short to Eagles on Thursday night 53 to 57. Rebels came out to a 20 to 8 advantage led by veteran Edith Boundry(15) who hit 4 treys in the first quarter. Rebels maintained the lead after Edith had to leave the game ending the half 31 to 19. Eagles took advantage of Edith's departure and went on a 21 to 7 third quarter run. Ambah Kowcun(19) tried to keep Rebels with in striking distance until the return of Edith Boundry in the last 3 mins of the game. But it was a bit too late to stage a comeback for the undermanned Rebels side who were missing the services of Daniel Ponter and Kiki Tilmouth going down to Eagles 53 to 57.
