Women's Round 13 And Men's Round 14 Recap
Rebels Women's side suffered another loss last night going down to Ansett for the second time this season. Uni Rebels started out well having a one point advantage to end the fisrt quarter 14 to 13. But the Lady Rebels could not match the offensive output of the opposition for the rest of the game even though they try to put up a good fight. Rebels was out scored by Ansett and went down 35 to 62. Ambah Kowcun was the only Rebels player that was in double figures with 14 points. Next week young Rebels will try to get back on the winning track against Eagles.
Uni Rebels Men's team started slow against Razzle in the first quarted going in to the first break 20 to 19. But it was a different story in the second quarter when Rebels tightened up the screws on defense and went on a 32 to 6 scoring run. Uni Rebels leading scorer Tyler Jefferson(10) went down with 5 minutes left in the second quarter with an ankle injury after being fouled and would not return to the game, but Uni Rebels kept rolling on. Rebels continued to pour on the point and kept the defensive intensity in the third qurter ending on a 73 to 42 advantage. Led by captain Marcus Ch'ng(30) and supported by Tom Uppena(20), Jake Kirby(17) and Lionel Oger(12) Rebels went on to win the game 103 to 57. Uni Rebels Men will play this Sunday 11:30am against Lightning at Mararra Indoor Stadium.
