Week 3 Review For Rebels League Games
Uni Rebels Women had to scramble to find players to field a team on Thursday night to fill in the absence of major players. The Women's team was able to find the numbers but was over matched by TV Jets. In the First quarter TV Jets jumped out to a 25 to 6 lead, and continued the momentum to end the half 47 to 8. The Lady Rebels tried hard all game but could not match the offensive output of the opposition and ended the game 111 to 21. The Rebels scoring was led by Vanessa White(9) supported by Chantelle Lee(6) and Kirsten Kelly(4)
In the Men's game Uni Rebels had a 1 point lead 19 to 18 lead to end the first quarter. Rebels went on a 33 to 14 scoring run in the second quarter and ended the half with a 52 to 32 advantage. But Rebels unraveled in the third quarter when TV Jets out scored Rebels 33 to 16 and closed the gap 68 to 65 to end the third quarter. Uni Rebels was able to regain composure in the fourth quarter but too many missed freethrows cost them the game and lost to TV Jets 81 to 82. Rebels attack was led by JB Pillard(31) supported by Tom Uppena(16), Larry Hamill(10) and Lance Schmidt(9). TV Jet's Travis Ellis led all scorers with 46 pts.
