Week 5 Revision For Uni Rebels Men and Women League Teams
Uni Rebels Men's bounced back from its loss last week and got a big win against Ansett last Friday night. Rebels jumped out to a 22 to 10 lead to end the first quarter. Rebels stepped up their defense in the second quarter that went on a 25 to 6 run and ended the half with a 47 to 16 advantage. Uni Rebels continued the momentum in the third quarter and out scored Ansett 30 to 18 to end the third quarter 77 to 34. But Rebels Men slowed down in the fourth because of foul trouble and got out scored 9 to 11 in the fourth quarter but did enough to secure the win 86 to 45. Rebels scoring was led by JB Pillard(33) supported by Lance Schmidt(22), Tom Uppenna(15) and Larry Hamill(11).
The Women's Team notched their first win this season after winning over Ansett. Ansett came out to a 19 to 25 advantage in the first quarter. But the Lady Rebels fought back in the second quarter and went on a 17 to 10 run and ended the half 36 to 35. Rebels maintained their focus in the third quarter and and out scored Ansett 17 to 8 and ended the third 53 to 43. In the fourth quarter Ansett fought back and out scored Rebels 14 to 20 but was not enough to take the game back from Uni Rebels and ended the game 67 to 63. The Rebels attack was spearheaded by Jaylene Bonson(19) and Justine Schmidt(19) and supported by Jaylene Boundry(12) and Tulaha Jeffrey(10).
