League Women - Uni Rebels v Palmerston Power

Palmerston Power claimed the points against the Uni Rebels in overtime 59-56. The Power looked like running away with the game four minutes into the second quarter as they already had a 32-20 lead, but a couple of treys from Rebel Jaylene Boundry cut the margin and by half time the Rebels only trailed by 1. The second half was a real see-saw affair and ended up in a 51 all knot after Rebel veteran Chantelle Lee hit a free throw with just 12 seconds left in regulation. Brittany Ward (14ppg) from the Power hit a trey with 2:28 left in OT for a 55-53 lead and they clung to that for the remainder of the game. Ward also hit 3 free throws in the last 52 seconds to insure the win. Jennifer Kinsella (10.1ppg) led the Power with 20 points, Ward and Haven Hohipa-Wilson added 12 each. Tuluha Jeffery (7.9ppg) led the Rebels with 18, Edith Boundry 13 and Jaylene Boundry 11.

League Men - Uni Rebels v Palmerston Power

Palmerston Power solidified their playoff spot with an easy 93-70 win over the Uni Rebels. Jesse Bell (23.7ppg) and three others hit double figures for the Power, whereas JB Pillard III (36.5ppg) was pretty much the lone standout for the Rebels apart from a double from Jake Kirby. The win keeps the Power in the hunt for a Challenge season championship, something they would like to add to the trophy cabinet…it would be their first. Bell hit 26, Fisto Bizima 18, Caleb Pannell 16 & Aaron Simpson 12. Pillard put up a game high 34 with Kirby (14.7ppg) adding 18.
