The Uni Rebels put a question mark over the Lightning’s chances in the playoffs with an 83-73 win. The Rebels failed to make the playoffs but made sure everybody knew that they believed they should be there. Jerrell Sanders (28ppg) let the Rebels with a game high 30 followed by Chad Bewley on 14 and Marcus Ch’ng, Lance Schmidt & Jake Kirby on 13 apiece. Lightning’s only challenge came in the last quarter when they trailed by 14, but despite outscoring the Rebels 26-22 they still fell way short of victory. The absence of big man Craig Martin did not help their cause and they will need him in the finals if they are to challenge for a GF spot. This is the first time in seven years the Rebels have missed out on a playoff spot. Cameron Bailey (10.5ppg) led the Lightning with 26 followed by Austin Kisselev (29ppg) with 23.
