The Blues are averaging 83.3 points per game (best in the league at the moment) and holding opponents to just 55 (second best). The Rebels hung tough for a quarter (17-15) but couldn’t keep up the pace and fell behind 44-27 at the half and then slipped further behind with a bad third quarter effort (20-7) to trail by 30 with a quarter to go. Tiayana Sing (9.1ppg) hit 14 for the Rebels with Danielle Ponter adding 10 and Shavayah Lee 9.

League Men - Ansett v Uni Rebels

The league leading Uni Rebels pulled one out of the bag against Ansett to edge out the Blues 75-74. The Rebels were staring down the barrel of a loss with just a bit over a minute remaining when Tim Morris hit his only trey on the night to tie the game up at 73 all with a minute to play. Robert Skinner from the Blues hit one of two opportunities from the charity stripe to give them a one point 74-73 lead with 51 seconds left. A flurry of fouls from both sides looking to gain an advantage gave the Rebels the chance they needed to win at the free throw line through Glenn Scott. Scott nailed his pair for a Rebel 75-74 lead with 37 seconds remaining. The Blues failed to convert after a timeout. Spencer Coleman led the Rebels with 28 followed by Morris with 25.
