League Men - Essington Vs Uni Rebels
Another galant effort for Uni Rebels Men's who where missing 5 players yesterday as they faced a full strenght Essington side. Uni Rebels started out great by winnning the tip and hitting the first 3 points of the game courtesey of Rebels sharp shooter Larry Hamill (8pts) who was very instrumental in this game. Rebels went point for point with Essington in the first quarter and went in to the first break down by just one point 16 to 17. The under sized Uni Rebels came out with the same energy and focus in the second quarter with the help of returning big man Thomas Richardson who held down the defense in the middle and kept Essington with in striking distance ending the first half 34 to 40. Led by Rebels scoring trio Josh Brown (29pts), Jay Hardy (24pts) and Jake Kirby (9pts); Rebels was able to cath up to Essington in the third quarter and even took the lead 59 to 55 with 2 minutes left in the third and ended the quarter 63 to 62. In the fourth quarter Rebels lost the lead with 7 minutes left and Essington went on a 10-0 run and Rebels where not able to match their out put and lost the game 75 to 84.
